Ford Will Not Leave India: Ford has shut down its domestic operations in India and stopped selling its current model, but the company is still planning to stay in India in some form or the other through imports. Ford will not make any cars in India but will continue to import some vehicles in the luxury segment. Along with this, the Ranger will also import the pick-up.
Ford Will Not Leave India Completely
Ford is planning to enter the EV space with the Mustang Mach-E first. It is an electric luxury SUV that claims to deliver performance similar to the Mustang. The Mach-E is expected to come in several variants in India, including the 500 bhp Mach-E GT Edition, which is the most powerful. Its large and powerful battery of 88kWh can give a range of up to 400km.
The Mach-E is likely to be a luxury SUV, so expect a massive touchscreen and other features. It will be even better than the V8 Mustang sports car with four doors and a bigger boot. It can be a reasonable priced EV SUV as the current electric luxury SUV costs more than 10 million. However, its price can also be around 60 to 70 lakh rupees.
Raptor pick-up will also launch.
While if we talk about other launches, then Ranger Raptor will also be pick-up. It is an off-road-oriented version of the popular pick-up. In this, bigger tires have been given for off-road performance. There is a four-wheeler drive system with different twists to adapt to the roads and the ability to do hardcore off-roading. There will be a 2.0-litre diesel engine but a 10-speed automatic and more power on the discounted Endeavor.
Ford will not go entirely from India.
Ford will have a small dealer network and a tiny network to sell these expensive cars through the import route. So don’t expect these cars to be cheap and expect both these cars to cost Rs 70 lakh and above. So yes, Ford will not exit India completely, but these cars will be sold only in limited numbers, and it remains to be seen how much buyers trust Ford with these expensive cars now.
