What will be unique in the new Scorpio
Mahindra Scorpio is set to enter a new generation later this year. The company introduced a brand new Scorpio in the teaser clip a few days ago. Now images of the SUV from the production plant go viral on the internet, indicating that the company has started production.
The photo shows that the 2022 Scorpio comes in a White colour option. It uses a slate grille, which is quite different from the old Mahindra Scorpio. C-shaped LED DRLs, fog lamps, and many other things have been added. One of the significant updates to the car includes using a double-barrel headlight, which is flanked by a chrome underlining.
On the side, the new Scorpio gets new wheels, which are likely to be 18-inches and a slight chrome beltline rising from the C-pillar. However, unlike the XUV700, the grab handle has no flush design, while the body cladding gets silver inserts.
Two reverse lights on either side
One of the images shows the rear of the SUV with a redesigned side-hinged tailgate. The rear bumper at the bottom has a contrast to the outgoing model. Also, two reverse lights on either side of the bumper and a chrome strip bridge the two.
Mahindra Scorpio 2022 Price and engine
Under the hood, the car is expected to come with a 2.2L 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, which is likely to be mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. The official launch of the new-gen Scorpio is expected in the next few months. Prices are likely to start at Rs.12 lakhs and go up to Rs.18 lakhs (ex-showroom).
