Maruti to Bring a New 7 Seater for India, Here are the Details

Maruti has always been a trusted brand in the Indian automobile market. Maruti cars are affordable, give good mileage, and their spare parts are readily available. With all these factors being in favour of Maruti, they have a very stronghold on the market. Apart from this, Maruti is also good at assessing the sentiments of the buyers. Considering all these factors, the brand is now expected to bring a new 7-seater to India, the XL7.

Maruti Suzuki XL7 is an MPV that is currently available for sale in Indonesia. The XL7 is the premium avatar of the Ertiga. The biggest difference between the XL6 and XL7 is the seating layout. The XL7 will be a seven-seater and will come with a bench seat in the second row. The Indonesia-spec XL7 comes with elements such as a black roof, black pillars, door visors, unique 16-inch alloy wheels and a rear upper spoiler. In such a situation, when this vehicle will be launched in India, then whether Maruti will give these features is not known.

The XL7 will get the company’s 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated K15B petrol engine that produces 103bhp and 138Nm of torque. This engine will get a five-speed manual as well as four-speed automatic transmission options. The XL7 will be built on the same Heartect platform as the Ertiga. Its length will be 4,445 mm, width 1,775 mm and height 1,700 mm. The car will come with a 2740mm wheelbase. It also gets 803 litres of boot space with the rear seats folded down. The XL7 will be made available in India through Nexa.

The XL6 gets a captain seat while the XL7 gets bench format seating in the second row. Apart from this, the Indonesia Specific XL7 gets a 10.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and massive 16-inch alloy wheels. We don’t expect the XL7 to come with any significant changes as compared to the XL6. Like the XL6, the XL7 will also come with premium elements as compared to the Ertiga. In this, you will be given full LED headlamps with DRL, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, cruise control, automatic AC, multi-function steering wheel, keyless entry etc. The Maruti XL7 will be Rs 50,000 to Rs 80,000, more expensive than the Ertiga. Although when it is brought to India, it is not known at the moment.
