Tata Motors has revealed its SUV punch. This is the same SUV that was being called the HBX. But the company has changed its name to Punch. Indian auto major Tata Motors said that it would launch its mini SUV Punch in the festive season. The punch SUV is based on the H2X concept, which Tata Motors showcased at the Auto Expo 2020.
It will be under the company’s compact SUV Nexon and is expected to hit the market around Diwali this year. “Ready for a national launch this festive season, Tata Motors said in a statement that the Punch would offer a blend of “tough utility with sporting dynamics”.

It is the first SUV built on the ALFA-ARC (Agile Light Flexible Advanced Architecture) platform, developed under the Impact 2.0 design language. The car is expected to be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that powers the Tata Tigor, Altroz and Tiago. Tata may also offer a turbocharged 1.2-litre engine option here.
Tata Motors first showcased the Punch as the HBX concept micro-SUV during the Auto Expo last year. The punch SUV will take on the Maruti Suzuki Ignis, and the upcoming Hyundai micro-SUV likely called the Casper.
