Volvo XC40 Electric SUV Gets Charged Up To 80% In Just 40 Minutes


A year ago, Volvo Cars India unveiled the XC40 Recharge electric SUV for the domestic market. However, the car’s launch has been delayed due to the lack of a semiconductor chip. XC40 recharge will be sold through the CBU route. The car was recently spotted in India.

It is believed that the company can soon debut the XC40 recharge in India. The car has reached the dealership in Gurgaon, Haryana. Compared to the regular entry-level XC40 luxury SUV, the electrified version comes with a closed-off front grille. Visual highlights include sharp LED headlamps with integrated T-shaped LED daytime running lights and a two-tone exterior paint scheme.

The spy shots include red and black dual-tone shades with pillars, rear integrated spoiler and roof finish in black and the rest of the body in red. At the rear, the Volvo XC40 Recharge gets vertical LED tail lamps, Volvo writing on the boot lid, raked rear glass panels, black cladding on the bumpers, stylish alloy wheels.


Specifications of XC40 Recharge Electric SUV

For performance, two electric motors have been provided in the car with a battery pack of 78 kWh. The system generates 402 HP maximum power and 660 Nm peak torque. The Volvo XC40 Recharge can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.9 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 180 kmph.

The WLTP range of the five-seater zero-emission SUV offers a range of up to 418 km on a single charge. A 150 kW DC fast charger helps charge from 0 to 80 per cent in just 40 minutes, while an 11 kW AC fast charger can charge from 0 to 100 per cent between eight and ten hours. The XC40 Recharge will be the first full-electric offering from the Swedish luxury carmaker.

Interiors of the XC40 Recharge include an extensive touchscreen infotainment system with OTA updates, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, a panoramic sunroof, four USB Type-C ports, an all-digital instrument cluster, a steering wheel with mounted controls, and standard Safety features have been given.
