BCCI: The controversy over the Asia Cup to be held this year is not taking its name. Pakistan, which has the right to host the Asia Cup, has expressed the possibility of organizing the tournament in September-October. But India has made it clear that the time of September-October is not right for Team India. Earlier, Pakistan claimed that the Asia Cup could be held in Sri Lanka or the UAE.
The PCB may consider hosting the Asia Cup by postponing the next season of the Pakistan Super League. The BCCI can then adjust the calendar and play the Asia Cup. The official said, “Asia Cup is going to be troublesome this year. According to the statement made by the CEO of PCB, the window which they feel is not suitable for India. PCB will not give PSL till next year. If we postpone and the BCCI is ready at this time, then it can be done. Otherwise, the Asia Cup is going to be a challenging task in this challenging time. ”
The PSL is usually held between February and March. This year the tournament was postponed due to coronavirus in the knockout round. The PCB is considering holding a knockout round in November.
BCCI Priority In Organizing IPL
Regarding the Asia Cup, Wasim Khan told the media, “Asia Cup will happen. Pakistan team will return from England on September 2, and after that, we can play tournaments in September and October. Some things will be clear with time. We hope. That will be the Asia Cup because there are not many cases in Sri Lanka. If those people cannot, then UAE is ready. ”
The BCCI has already made it clear that when it starts cricket again after COVID-19, its focus will be on domestic cricket and bilateral series. The board has recently cancelled the tour of Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
Apart from this, the BCCI is also considering organizing the Indian Premier League in September-October. The BCCI has already made it clear that the option of hosting the IPL is being searched without any audience on the field.
