Shocking News For the Common People .. Onion Price is Going Up Again ..!

Onion Prices Rise: In the past, people across the country were in tears without picking onions. The difficulties faced by ordinary people at that time were not all. The reason is that prices are rising. Onions have reached around Rs 200 per kg for a few days. At present, the price is entirely under control.

It is now priced at Rs 20 to Rs 30 per kg. However, leading market research firm Crisil warns that onion prices are likely to rise further in the coming days. Prices are expected to double in the coming days.

13 lakh tonnes per month

About 13 lakh tonnes of onions are consumed in India every month. More than half of this crop is being supplied from Maharashtra to other parts of the country. In Maharashtra, then Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, onions are grown mainly by farmers. Onion cultivation in Maharashtra and Karnataka has been delayed due to the effects of Typhoon Tautou. In addition to this, Crisil says that the onion harvest is being delayed due to the recent rains.

Late arrival in onion market

About 75% of the onion crop in the country comes from the Kharif season. Crisil reveals that the onion crop for this season may take longer to come to hand. It is said that onions may take a long time to reach the market due to harvest, processing, supply etc. Considering the onion production, supply, demand, etc., over the last three years, onion prices are likely to rise further in the coming days.

Impact on Rabbi

Production from Rabi will be available as buffer stock even if the Kharif season is late in harvest. Due to the heavy rains in August and September, the onion is easily damaged due to the high humidity in the climate. In addition, Crisil says the buffer stock is likely to fall. Maharashtra, the largest producer of onions, has received heavy rains, but Nashik, which grows onions, has been experiencing drought for the past three years.

As a result, onion growers are also turning to nurseries. Crisil expects onion yields to decline as well. However, Crisil says onion prices are likely to go up by the next Dussehra season.
