Anushka Sharma once said that her father had been a part of every war from the Indian Army since 1982. Operation Blue Star or Kargil War – Anushka Sharma’s father, Colonel (Retd) Ajay Kumar Sharma ( Ajay Kumar Sharma ), was present in both and performed his duty. Anushka Sharma had said that she was terrified from inside at the Kargil war, but she never tried to let that wrinkle on her face.

But whenever she used to talk to her father on the phone, she used to speak to her father not about the environment there but about her school and boyfriends. She used to get nervous seeing her mom because Anushka’s mom used to keep an eye on the news of war on TV all day.

In an interview given to E-Times in 2012, Anushka said, ‘Kargil was adamant for me. I was very young, but I was scared to see my mother. She used to watch news channels only. The media kept changing. Sometimes she used to get very disappointed when casualties were announced.
When my father was called for war, the father did not say anything. When he used to talk from there, I used to tell him about my school; I used to know about my boyfriends. I used to talk about everything; I did not make him feel that he had gone to fight the war.
Anushka is very close to their father.
Anushka had said that she had been very close to her father. She can openly talk to her father on every topic, except with no one else. Anushka had said that I feel very proud that I am the daughter of an army officer, much bigger than being an actor.
