Aryan Khan’s Bail in the drugs case was to be decided today. Hearing in this case, the Mumbai Sessions Court refused to grant Bail to Aryan Khan. Not only Aryan, but the court also did not give Bail to Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha. That is, Aryan will have to stay in Arthur Road Jail for now.
Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh, representing the NCB, told Judge VV Patil that Aryan could not be treated differently from the 17 other accused. Therefore, he should not get Bail in the case of drug trafficking and criminal conspiracy because the investigation of this matter is absolutely in the preliminary stage.
Aryan Khan Still Hasn’t Got Bail.
On October 2, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) detained three people, including Aryan Khan, from the cruise ship. On October 3, he was arrested in the drugs case. Aryan was arrested under sections 8C, 20B and 27, 35 of NDPS. NCB said that they had got 6 grams of charas from Arbaaz Merchant, Arbaaz’s friend.
Aryan has been arrested because he is also likely to be involved in drug dealing. After this, he started reading WhatsApp chat from Aryan’s phone. After this, the NCB claimed that some such things had come out of Aryan’s phone, linking him to an international drug racket. So they would need Aryan’s custody.
Apart from this, NCB had also raised questions on the conversation between Arbaaz Merchant and Aryan Khan on WhatsApp. In the chats that NCB has got, Aryan and Arbaaz had said that they are going for a ‘blast’ on the cruise ship. The word ‘blast’ was introduced differently by the NCB in the court. In response, Aryan’s lawyer said that today’s children interact similarly on social media platforms. ‘Blast’ is generally used in the sense of enjoying a lot.
Aryan Khan’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde wants Aryan’s Bail in this case as soon as possible. But their efforts so far have been unsuccessful. He told the court that no drugs were recovered from Aryan. In such a situation, sending him to NCB or judicial custody is wrong. But this did not help, and on October 7, Aryan was sent to judicial custody for 14 days. October 20, Mumbai Sessions Court ruled that Aryan Khan would not be able to get Bail. He will have to remain in jail for now. For how long is not clear.
