Bhuban Badyakar, who became an internet sensation with the song ‘Kacha Badam’, tries his best to stay connected to the ground. Last year, his life took an exciting turn when a video of him singing the song ‘Kachha Badam’ went viral. The latest version of this song was created and uploaded to YouTube, which immediately took him to stardom.
Sold the car because of this
Bhuban Badyakar revealed, “I am still an average groundnut seller from a rural village. The sudden money made me nervous initially, and I bought a second car, but then I realized that it wasn’t me. My accident was like a reality check for me.” He had bought a second-hand car at the height of his fame but then decided to sell it after an accident. He added, “I realize now that I don’t need the car.”
Suddenly become famous
Bhuban Badyakar said with an innocent smile that is suddenly becoming famous is a sign of a fantastic journey. While Badyakar is recording new songs, performing in stage shows and handling the media glare, his simple home in Birbhum shows no sign of his sudden rise to fame. He knows what he needs to live.
No need to sell peanuts
The singer further said, at one point, he thought that there was no need to sell peanuts as there were so many proposals to perform on stage, and he made some comments that he should not have done. Bhuban Badyakar said, “It was all my fault. I am not a celebrity. I will sell peanuts again if need be. I am not used to handling these starry things, so the celebrity comment was exaggerated.”
Bhuban Badyakar has written two songs
Bhuban Badyakar said, “I wrote two more songs – one is ‘Saregama’ and the other one which happened after I bought a second-hand car, accident and then decided not to drive the car. The title of this song is ‘Amar Notun Gari’. I have tried to tell people about my thoughts about life.” Bhuvan was recently in Mumbai to record the second song.
