Kanika Kapoor is one of the most popular singers in the industry. She is currently making headlines because of her new song “Buhe Bariyan”. The song has received a great response from his fans. But recently, Kanika has been in trouble after a Pakistani singer Hadika Kiyani accused her of stealing her music. Hadiqa claimed that it was his original work, in which his mother wrote poetry. Now Kanika has spoken openly about the allegation of stealing the song.
It’s a pity that it is
Talking to ETimes, Kanika said, “I can say that on behalf of everyone I know, we have always been huge fans of music coming from Pakistan, Afghanistan, North of India, Punjab. It’s sad. There is a lot of hate on a subject, and we don’t even know what is right and what is wrong. I mean, for me, we have made an original song. Juneja Ji has written the lyrics; Shruti has written this song. The song is composed by Gaurav Dasgupta and uses a line from an old Punjabi folk that is being heard.”
This is not the cover version.
She continued, “So it’s not a cover version; it’s a completely new song. If someone listens to it and it’s just a small hook line, we used an old Punjabi folk song, which I have seen more than 60 versions on YouTube. I don’t know if it comes from Pakistan or Afghanistan or Punjab.”
We are very sorry
She further said that there was no intention of stealing the work of anyone working on this song or not giving credit to anyone. And if they feel that way, it makes us very sad, and we are very sorry. But frankly, we know it too because none of us knows the truth behind copyright.”
No intention of bothering anyone
Kanika Kapoor further said, “If someone is claiming rights over that, there is nothing like that. But I had no intention of harassing anyone. I have a lot of love and respect for all my fellow singers in Pakistan. And I will continue to follow and love his music. Also, people should not bring religion, country, and craft in the middle of a song.”
