The Supreme Court turned down the petition of Priyanka, sister of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Priyanka had demanded the cancellation of the case filed against her on the complaint of Riya Chakraborty.
Supreme Court Rejects Plea Of SSR Sister
Riya accused Sushant’s sisters of replacing Sushant’s medicines through the wrong prescription. Priyanka Singh reached the Supreme Court due to a lack of relief from the Bombay High Court.
The Bombay High Court said that no case should be made against one of Sushant’s two sisters, Mitu. But the allegations against Priyanka were said to be worth investigating. Today, the matter was taken up in a three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde. Senior advocate Vikas Singh, appearing for Priyanka, said that Riya had filed this false case in response to the allegations levelled against her in Sushant’s death case.
Vikas Singh also demanded that if there is to be an investigation in this case, then it should be from the CBI only. Lest Maharashtra police also keep investigating due to confusion about the situation. But the court refused to give any order. The Chief Justice said that he does not feel any need to interfere in the High Court order.
