Vidya Balan Recalls Being Asked To Work Around Hero’s Dates
Recalling his old days, he has said that sexism in the industry is like my character in the film Sherni. Vidya Balan is playing the role of a forest officer in the movie Sherni. In the movie, Vidya faces sexism on both the personal and professional front as a forest officer. Amit Masurkar has directed this film.
Talking about sexism, Vidya Balan said, I think we face sexism all the time. And it is not only done by men, but women also do it. Sometimes we end up doing the same thing other women do, and in this situation, we also behave the same way with other women.
Vidya said that in the patriarchal mindset, the wrong feeling against the woman is deeply ingrained. We are all immersed in it. It isn’t easy to get rid of it quickly. Vidya said, I still face it today. Yes, but I don’t do it like before. These things bother me, but of course, it is much less now than it used to be. I see people all over the world facing sexism.
I was asked to come according to the date of the male actor.
Surprisingly, not everyone is even aware that he is sexist. Recalling her old days, Vidya says that I was often asked to adjust the time when I came to Bollywood. In the initial days, he said that the male actor had given his date, so you should decide your date accordingly. Although some films in which I played the lead role did not matter to him.
