The Kashmir Files: 5000 Hours Of Research And 700 Interviews For A Film


The film The Kashmir Files, directed by Vivek Agnihotri, is nowadays. It is based on the massacre of Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir in the 90s and their exodus from there. The film is getting a good response from critics and the audience. Earnings are also getting good at the box office of the film.

After the film’s release, Vivek told how he made this film and how much research and interviews he did. During the recent press conference, Vivek talked about making the film. Vivek said that 5000 hours of research was done for the film. And 15 thousand pages of documents were collected.

Vivek then also showed a 20-minute video in which interviews were taken of several Kashmiri Pandits who were present in Kashmir during that time. Vivek further said that he and his wife Pallwari Joshi had gone to many cities of India and abroad and met and interviewed 700 Victim Kashmiri Pandits. In the video, Vivek and Pallavi encouraged those people while cleaning their tears.


Vivek said that Kashmiri Pandits were in a lot of pain as they were thrown out of their house. But more than that, he got from the political system of that period. Many people do not know what happened to Kashmiri Pandits. He said that the government had tried its best to hide this tragedy.

It was not easy to decide to make a film.

Vivek also revealed that many Kashmiri Pandits had asked Bollywood bigwigs to make a film on the issue, but every time they got disappointed. When this idea came to Vivek in 2018, he also thought about it for one and a half months. Vivek said taking this decision was not easy as it could have faced many dangers. You could have received threats from terrorists, and when terrorists attack you, no police and army can save you. However, my wife Pallavi encouraged me. After that, we decided to make this film.

Let us tell you about the film’s star cast that Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar, Aman Iqbal, Punil Prasar are in the lead role in the movie. The film has also been made tax free in Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.
