What is Omicron XE?
Omicron XE is a mutant version of Omicron’s older two versions, BA.1 and BA.2. According to the report of Firstpost, this variant was first found in the UK on 19 January, and so far, more than 600 cases of this variant have been confirmed. It is also being told that this variant is the most transmissible among all the earlier variants; it spreads very fast and is the fastest spreading variant to date.
In this report, based on a paper published in the British Medical Journal Notes, it has been told that when more than one variant of the same person becomes a victim simultaneously, a new variant can be formed from the mixup of their genetic material. How dangerous is the XE variant?
