However, the Government of India has denied this. The Ministry of Health says that it is not clear from the existing evidence that this variant is present in the sample.
The arrival of this new variant of Corona in India may not have been confirmed, but the question is, how dangerous is this new variant of Corona and whether people need to be afraid of it or not. In such a situation, we know that if this variant enters India, how dangerous it can prove to be and how different it is from the variants that have come so far. Know everything related to this variant…
What’s the matter?
It was told earlier that the Omicron X E variant had been confirmed in Mumbai. It is being said that the woman who was talked about having the Omicron XE variant came from South Africa. Also, this woman did not complain of any symptoms, and she had recovered from the infection. After the news that a new variant of Omicron was found in the woman, the government has told this wrong.
What is Omicron XE?
Omicron XE is a mutant version of Omicron’s older two versions, BA.1 and BA.2. According to the report of Firstpost, this variant was first found in the UK on 19 January, and so far, more than 600 cases of this variant have been confirmed. It is also being told that this variant is the most transmissible among all the earlier variants; it spreads very fast and is the fastest spreading variant to date.
In this report, based on a paper published in the British Medical Journal Notes, it has been told that when more than one variant of the same person becomes a victim simultaneously, a new variant can be formed from the mixup of their genetic material. Three variants have been detected we talk about these hybrid variants: XD, XE, and XF. In this, both X D and X F are made from the combination of Delta and BA.1.
How dangerous is the XE variant?
If we talk about the new XE variant, it is being described as a fast-spreading variant; in such a situation, it can be tough to stop it from spreading. At the same time, if we look at the effect on health, it is not considered more dangerous initially, but still, WHO is researching many sub-variants that how difficult it can prove to be for health.
So far, it has been known that it spreads rapidly, but there is no confirmation that it will be more dangerous than Omicron. In such a situation, people do not need to panic much.
