Visually challenged girl Hannah Alice Simon scored 496/500 marks

Visually Challenged Girl From Kerala: Overcoming all odds, a 19-year-old girl proved that no dream is impossible. Hannah Alice Simon, a student from Kochi, has achieved yet another achievement by securing the top position in the disabled category in the class 12 board examination. Hannah is a Motivational Speaker, Singer and Youtuber. Hanna lost her eyes due to the underlying condition ‘Microphthalmia’. She scored 496 out of 500 in CBSE Class XII.

Girl gives credit to parents for topping.

The 19-year-old humanities student has topped the list of disabled students in the country. Born and brought up in Kochi, Hanna studied at Rajagiri Christu Jayanti Public School in Kakkanad. Hannah is a girl with many talents. Not only is she doing well in school, but she also published a book titled ‘Welcome Home’ on July 15, which featured six short stories from young girls. Hannah insists on her parents’ decision that she is allowed to attend a regular school.

Used to be bullied in school, yet focused on studies

She said, ‘Instead of educating me in a school for disabled students, my parents thought of giving me admission in a regular school so that I would not face any difficulty for further studies in college. ‘ She also insisted that even though she was bullied in school, she left these things and moved on because she had many other aspirations that had to be fulfilled.

She said, ‘I was bullied, and as I grew up, I was kept away from many things. But I know that as I progress in my life, I will have to face such challenges. That’s why facing them right from my childhood has made me stronger. Face significant difficulties in life.

‘My parents used to run with me holding hands’

She also noted that her parents did not treat her differently regarding her studies or opportunities. Hannah further said, ‘I am not unique to my parents. All three of us are equally impressive. I am only one of three children. hE never told me that I was different. She always said that you are like other kids, and I can do what other kids do. When my friends were running, I wanted to run too. My parents used to take me to the school grounds and run with me holding my hands.

Increased confidence due to parents

Hannah’s father, Simon Mathews, credits her self-confidence and attitude to her mother, Lisa Simon. Simon Mathews said, ‘When Hannah was a child, she faced bullying at school. Friends kept him away from the friendship. Hannah’s mother stands behind her and supports her in every way. He helped her in a way that boosted her confidence. All those difficulties made Hannah stronger. Hannah also understood everything very well. She accepted the challenges.
