IAS officer walking with Dog in Delhi Stadium: Sanjeev Khirwar, Principal Secretary (Revenue) of Delhi, has been accused that because of him and his dog, the Thyagaraj Stadium is emptied at seven in the evening. In fact, after 7.30 pm, IAS officer Sanjeev comes to the stadium for a walk with his dog, due to which the athletes and coaches training there are very upset.
Who are the IAS officers who were accused?
A claim has been made about IAS officer Sanjeev Khirwar. He is a 1994 batch officer who is currently posted as Revenue Commissioner in Delhi. All the DMs of Delhi work under him. Also, he is the secretary of the Environment Department of Delhi. Khirwar has done B-Tech Computer Engineering. He also holds a Masters’s degree in Economics. He started his career as SDM in Chandigarh.
Talking about Khirwar, IAS officer Sanjeev Khirwar, posted in many important posts, held many important positions in Delhi, Goa, Andaman and Nicobar, Arunachal Pradesh, and in the Government of India. Earlier in Delhi, he has also been posted as Trade and Tax Commissioner.
Know what is the whole controversy
A coach claims that the stadium is vacated early. Earlier, there was training until 8 or 8.30 pm, but now athletes and coaches are asked to leave from there only at 7 pm. This is because IAS officers come there for a walk with their dog. Khirwar has denied the allegations against him. He has denied that his walk does not cause any problem with the athletes’ practice.

After the matter came to light, the Kejriwal government of Delhi issued a new order. It has been said that now the stadiums will be open for players, athletes etc. till 10 pm. Stadium administrator Anil Chaudhary denied the allegations and said that the official timings were being followed. He said that the official training time for athletes is till 7 pm. After that, the coach and the athlete leave. No one was asked to leave early.
