To double the farmer’s income in Jharkhand, the state government runs many schemes. By taking advantage of this, the income of the farmers has increased. The State Agriculture Department is operating these schemes. To benefit the farmers, the Directorate of Horticulture has started the Post Harvest and Preservation Infrastructure Development Scheme for the farmers.
Under this, the processing of fruits and vegetables to the farmers on behalf of the Directorate of Horticulture, operated by the Department of Agriculture.) and small equipment for maintenance. This will give a boost to food processing in the state. This will also benefit those farmers who have to sell at low prices due to a lack of storage facilities.
Jharkhand Farmers Will Get FreeCycle
For the benefit of this scheme to the farmers of Jharkhand, a provision of Rs 11 crore was made in the financial year 2021-22. Although this scheme could not be started at that time, during the last financial year, the amount of this scheme was withdrawn and kept in the PL account.
After this, now this scheme will be started again in the current financial year 2022-23. Under the scheme, farmers will be given cycles and e-rickshaws. Along with this, there is a plan to provide small cold storage to the farmers. The benefit of this scheme will be available to those farmers who are registered with Kisan E-NAM.
The cycle will be given to three thousand farmers.
Under the Post Harvest and Preservation Infrastructure Development Scheme, 10-10 farmers falling under 300 rural markets of the state will be given cycles. Accordingly, 3000 cycles will be distributed. The cost of one cycle given to the farmers will be five thousand rupees.
According to the plan, one and a half crore rupees will be spent on the cycle distribution scheme in the entire state. The farmers who will be given a cycle will also be given a sack along with the cycle. A provision has also been made in the scheme that 250 farmers will also be given tricycles and bucks.
250 farmers will get e-rickshaw
According to media reports, the cost of one unit in this scheme will be 40 thousand rupees. Accordingly, one crore rupees will be spent on this scheme. The Horticulture Department also plans to provide e-rickshaws to 250 farmers in the state. The state government will spend Rs 87 lakh on this scheme.
In the e-rickshaw scheme, the cost of one unit will be two lakh rupees. The farmers who will be given e-rickshaw will also be given 12 carats to keep fruits and vegetables. This will make it easier for the farmers to bring their produce to the market.
