CM City Karnal has got a big gift. The ring road will be built in Karnal. The Ring Road is waiting for 26 villages. Before starting the construction of this road, the work of utility shifting has been expedited. Apart from this, serious efforts are also being made to complete other formalities.
For a few months, the tender document draft of this road has been sent to the National Highways Authority of India for approval. This, too, is likely to be approved soon. However, the work on utility transfer, forest proposal and structure evaluation has gained momentum. At the same time, the construction of this road has been delayed by several months from the scheduled time.
What is Karnal Ring Road Project
The Karnal Ring Road will be 34 and a half kilometres long and pass through 23 villages in the district. For this, the work of land acquisition of 219 hectares has been almost completed. After this, awards will be given in November, and by the end of 2021, the project’s construction work can start in 24 to 30 months.
Its alignment is almost final. The cost of land acquisition and utility transfer works will be half-and-half from the central and state governments.
Where will the Karnal Ring Road be built?
The Karnal Ring Road will have six lanes, whose width will be about 60 meters. This route will start around Vivaan Hotel adjacent to Shamgarh in the west of Karnal and go from village Darad to Naval, Sheikhpura, Ganjogarhi till toll plaza near Kutel.
The second alignment of the Ring Road will be made on the Western Yamuna Canal track passing through the National Highway, which will cross Kaithal Road to Barota village and from there will get Ring Road Crossing NH-44 via Kharkali, Jhimarhedi.

The land of 23 villages will come under this project. All these villages are waiting for the commencement of this road. These villages include Shamgarh, Dadupar, Jhanjhari, Kurali, Darad, Salaru, Taprana, Danyalpur and Naval and Karnal villages Kunjpura, Subhari, Chhaprakheda, Suhana, Sheikhpura, Ranwar, Ganjogarhi, Barauta, Kutel and Uncha Samana and Gharaunda. The village consists of 23 villages including Kharkali, Jhimarhedi, Samalkha and Bijna.
Logistics Park involved in Ring Road project
This project proposes setting up a logistic park near Ganjogarhi village on about 50 hectares, where a mechanized warehouse and cold store will be built.
