Under ‘Mission Raftaar’, trains will run on the Delhi-Mumbai Route


Mumbai-Delhi Route Trains: Many new initiatives are being taken by the Railways for the convenience of the passengers. In this episode, Western Railway plans to increase the speed of trains running between Mumbai-Delhi. Due to this, the time of trains running between Mumbai to Delhi will be 12 hours.

At present, this journey takes up to 16 hours for passengers. It is worth noting that Western Railway has named this plan to increase the speed of trains ‘Mission Raftaar’ and approved the tender of Rs 1,281 crore for the project. Has given.

What will happen in Mission Raftaar?

  1. Under Mission Raftaar, the speed of trains running between Mumbai and Delhi will be increased to 160 kmph.
  2. Infrastructure will be strengthened to increase the speed of trains on the Mumbai-Delhi corridor.
  3. The deadline to complete Mission Raftaar has been kept as March 2024.
  4. Mumbai to Delhi’s 1 thousand 384 km long route will be completed in 12 hours instead of 16.

How will the speed of trains be increased under Mission Raftaar?

According to the Times Group report, an official associated with the project said that the space under the tracks would be widened by spending Rs 17.72 crore to increase the speed of trains. Behind this, the railway engineers say that the wider the space under the tracks, the lesser the shocks during the journey.


Along with this, the bridge and overhead wiring will be strengthened, and the signal system will also be supported. Apart from this, permanent speed barriers between Mumbai-Delhi will also be removed. Not only this, RCC wall or wire facing will also be done on the entire route so that there is no trace of passing.

Work will start soon between Mumbai Central to Nagda.

Soon the work of 694 km between Mumbai Central and Nagda will be started in the entire corridor. For this section under the jurisdiction of Western Railways, 80 per cent of civil work tenders worth Rs 931 crore have been finalised. At present, 11 tenders are yet to be approved. With this, let us tell you that the speed of trains can be increased up to 200 km. For this, a lot of attention is being paid to the strength of the track.
