Amravati MP Navneet Rana’s lawyer Rizwan Merchant has claimed that his client is not getting proper treatment in jail. Rizwan Merchant has written a letter to the Superintendent of Byculla Jail. He has asserted that Navneet Rana is suffering from Spondylosis; she is not being provided with the facility of CT scan.
He further wrote that for a long time, Navneet Rana was forced to sit on the floor and sleep. In such a situation, his pain has increased due to spondylosis. Further treatment cannot be done without a CT scan. Not only this, ADG Maharashtra Jail and Lok Sabha Speaker have also been marked in this letter.
Advocate Rizwan Merchant has alleged that Navneet Rana was advised for a CT scan after a medical checkup, but the administration did not allow it. He wrote that JJ Hospital had given in writing that a CT scan is necessary to check for spondylosis. The lawyer said the jail administration did not do this.
Rizwan Merchant said, if anything happens to his client Navneet Rana, then AAP (administration) will be responsible for his health. Several appeals have been made to your office to get our client’s CT scan done. But due to ill-will, permission was not given. He said a copy of this complaint had been sent to ADG Police and Lok Sabha Speaker.
Navneet Rana is in jail.
Navneet Rana and her husband, Ravi Rana, are currently in jail. Navneet Rana and her husband had announced to recite Hanuman Chalisa in front of Matoshree, the residence of Uddhav Thackeray. After this, the police arrested both of them. Police have registered a case of sedition against Navneet Rana and her husband, Ravi Rana.
