On the one hand, there is talk of having the country’s largest gold mine in Jamui, Bihar, and on the other hand, there is a possibility of having petroleum reserves in Buxar and Samastipur. Indications of petroleum products have been found in 308 km of Samastipur district and 52.13 sq. area of Buxar. The Bihar government has approved its discovery. The Government of India had sent the proposal.
Giving information about this, Minister of State for Home, Government of India, Nityanand Rai, said that the Government of India had approved Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) to explore petroleum products in the Ganga basin of Samastipur. It is estimated that petroleum reserves can be found. Oil exploration is done in Samastipur in a 308 km square area with state-of-the-art technology.
Conjecture will prove to be true: Nityanand Rai.
Minister of State for Home Affairs Rai said that sufficient oil reserves had been estimated in the Ganga basin passing through the Samastipur district. Nityanand Rai, while claiming to have found oil storage, said that after talking to the Petroleum Minister, I could speak with the claim that the estimate of getting oil reserves in Samastipur is going to prove to be true. If oil is found here in 308 km square, you can understand what can happen in Samastipur and Bihar.
The vision of PM Modi
The Union Minister of State said that our Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants India to become self-reliant on petroleum. We don’t have to depend on other countries. He said that a vast amount has to be given to the Government of India in the form of subsidies on petroleum products.
Letter to Buxar DM
ONGC has also sent a letter to the Buxar district administration. Due to this, the possibility of getting valuable items in the state’s ground, which is rich in sand and floods, is getting stronger. The District Magistrate of Buxar said that the district administration had received a letter that petroleum products may be in the Ganges basin.
The survey will be done soon.
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) estimates that Buxar 52.13 km and Samastipur may have significant oil reserves. ONGC has applied for a license for petroleum exploration from the Department of Mines and Geology, Bihar. The DM said that very soon, the work of site inspection will be done in collaboration with ONGC.
