The thieves stole the bus of the Uttar Pradesh government’s transport department from the bus stand itself. The driver has been suspended after the roadways bus was stolen. A departmental inquiry has been ordered into the matter.
According to the report of Krishna Gopal Raj associated with Aaj Tak, this incident took place at the roadways bus stand in Bareilly. Thieves stole UP Roadways bus number UP25 AT5255. As soon as the incident came to light, there was a stir in the area. When the matter reached the higher authorities, the investigation started to find the bus.
The stolen bus reached Budaun from Bareilly.
Giving information about the incident, RM RK Tripathi of Roadways told the media,
The stolen bus had left Delhi on Wednesday, August 31 and reached the old bus station Bareilly at 10 pm. As per the rules, this bus was to reach the workshop, but the driver left it at the old bus station and the bus was stolen in the night. After a lot of research, on the afternoon of September 1, it was found that the stolen bus was standing unclaimed in Dataganj area of Badaun district. As soon as the location of the stolen bus was found, the officials from Bareilly left for Dataganj and came back with the bus.
According to officials, a preliminary investigation revealed the driver’s negligence. After taking action against the bus driver, he has been suspended.
According to the Roadways of Bareilly officials, this incident is shocking. According to him, regularly, daily, roadways buses are made to stand at the stand after returning from the fixed route. But on the night of August 31, the bus was stolen, and no one even noticed. The shocking thing is that the thieves stole the roadways bus despite installing CCTV cameras.
