According to government data, in some cities of the country, the prices of tomatoes have crossed even Rs 100 per kg. According to the data, tomatoes have scored a century in four cities ‘Port Blair, Shillong, Kottayam and Pathanamthitta’. According to the data, its retail price in many cities of the major tomato producing states of Andhra Pradesh (Andhra Pradesh), Karnataka (Karnataka) and Maharashtra (Maharashtra) ranges between Rs. 50 to Rs. 100 a kg.
