A video of passengers travelling on the roofs of trains in Baghpat, putting their lives at risk on the Delhi-Shamli rail route, has gone viral. Despite having an electric line on the way, passengers are seen riding on the train’s roof. Passengers say they are compelled to travel by risking their lives due to a lack of trains. At the same time, the railway official says that despite giving warnings, the passengers do not obey.
Let us tell you, Delhi Shamli via Saharanpur rail route is the busiest route. Before the Corona period, 24 trains were running up and down on it. In March 2020, all these trains were stopped due to the outbreak of Corona in the country. Simultaneously, installing electric lines to run trains on the route was started.
Travelling On The Roof Of An Electric Train
There is no place even to set foot in the coach; after the completion of the work of installing the electric line in early 2022, 4 trains were run on the route. These trains are like cumin in the mouth of a camel compared to the number of passengers from Saharanpur, Shamli, Baghpat and Ghaziabad.
More than 10,000 people from these four districts work in cities like Delhi and Noida. He goes to Delhi and Noida in the morning mode every day. From there in the evening, return by train. Due to this, the passengers get so crowded in all the three trains running on the route that there is no place to set foot in the coach.
Recently, a video of a train on the same route has gone viral. In this, passengers are seen sitting on the roof of the train putting their lives at risk. The video is being told in the middle of Khekra Loni.
On the other hand, Khekra station master Kishore Kumar Gupta says that when we run the train, there is no one on the roof. But later, people may climb up. People do not get space inside the train, so they sit on top of it. It is being demanded from the administration that additional trains should be run, and assurance has also been received from there. I hope to solve this problem soon.
