It tastes very delicious when gram flour is roasted with ghee and sugar. People like this laddu on special occasions and festivals. You can add some green cardamom seeds; it also enhances the taste. Let’s know its recipe.
Ingredients of Besan Laddu
- Besan – 1 cup
- Finely chopped almonds – 3 -6
- Ground green cardamom – 1/4 tsp
- Ghee – 50 grams
- Cashew nuts – 3 -6 finely chopped
- Sugar – 1/2 cup
Step – 1 Fry the gram flour in ghee
To make gram flour ladoo, heat ghee in a pan on low flame. When ghee melts, add gram flour and fry it for 10 to 20 minutes. Keep stirring it as gram flour may stick to the bottom of the pan. When the colour of the gram flour becomes light brown, add cardamom powder, cashew nuts and almonds to it. Mix all the ingredients well and take them off the flame.
Step – 2 Let the mixture cool down and make laddoos
Once done, let the besan mixture cool down. When it cools down sufficiently, add sugar to it and mix it well. Now take some portion of the gram flour mixture and make medium sized laddus. Keep the laddus on a plate greased with ghee. Serve after the besan laddoos are set. You can also store these laddoos in an airtight container.
You can also add grated coconut over your homemade gram flour ladoos.
Use brown sugar to make the laddus moist. If you cannot find sugar, you can use any other type of sugar.
