Shri Ramayana Yatra: Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will take pilgrims to the holy places associated with the life of Lord Rama. This journey will start on June 21 through a special tourist train. This Shri Ramayana Yatra will be for a total of 18 days. Booking has begun for the tour of the Ramayana circuit by tourist train; this journey will start from Delhi’s Safdarjung railway station on June 21.
62,370 rupees will have to be spent on this journey
This 18-day journey of the train has 11 third AC class coaches with about 600 passengers. For this journey, a passenger will have to spend Rs 62,370. This tour package aims to fulfil the dreams of those devotees who want to visit the places related to Lord Rama. This yatra also includes where Shri Ram and his wife Goddess Sita and brother Lakshmana set foot during their 14 years of exile.
Routes
The train will run on the Ramayana circuit identified under the Swadesh Darshan scheme, including Ayodhya, Janakpur (Nepal), Sitamarhi, Buxar, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Shringverpur, Chitrakoot, Nashik, Hampi, Rameshwaram, Kanchipuram and Bhadrachalam. This is the first time that a tourist train will travel from India to Nepal and connect the two religious cities of Ayodhya and Janakpur.
BOARDING POINTS
There are Aligarh, Tundla, Kanpur and Lucknow boarding points, Apart from Delhi. The ticket price is the same regardless of the passenger’s station. The travel will include meals, hotel stays and guide services at the places of pilgrimage. The Bharat Gaurav tourist train will return to Delhi on the 18th day of its journey, during which it will cover a distance of about 8,000 km.
Bookings happening from different parts of the country
Bookings are being made for this journey from other parts of the country. Of which 285 bookings have already been made, a maximum of 61 bookings are from Maharashtra, and 55 are from Uttar Pradesh.
EMI option is also available
IRCTC has also tied up with Paytm and Razorpay payment gateways to offer EMI options to passengers. A 5 per cent discount will be given to the first 50 per cent passengers. The EMI payment option provided by IRCTC is also for the first time.
How to book tickets on IRCTC
Step 1: Go to irctc.co.in.
Step 2: On the homepage, click on the Login option.
Step 3: After logging in, you have to go to the ‘Book Your Ticket’ page.
Step 4: Enter the journey starting and ending station, boarding and destination station.
Step 5: Select the date of your journey and the category you want to travel to.
Step 6: Check whether the seat is available on the train of your choice.
Step 7: If seats are available, click on Book now option.
