Sooji Halwa Recipe: This Indian dessert is very popular and is prepared for almost every festival and occasion. Every region of India has a unique way of preparing this dish. This easy recipe prepared using Sooji, sugar, ghee, green cardamom and garnished with almonds can be served as an evening snack or as a dessert.

During many festivals, pudding is offered as prasad to the deities. Sooji is a rich source of potassium, iron and protein and helps in reducing heart diseases. Serve this halwa to your family and friends and enjoy it.

Sooji Halwa Recipe Ingredients

  1. Sooji – 2 cups
  2. Ghee – 1 cup
  3. Water as required
  4. Sugar – 2 cups
  5. Ground green Cardamom – 1/2 tbsp
  6. To garnish – Chopped almonds 1 tbsp

How to make Sooji Halwa

Step – 1 Cook Sooji in ghee

To make this recipe, first put a pan on low flame and add ghee to it. When the ghee melts completely, add Sooji and fry till it becomes light brown.

Step – 2 Prepare sugar syrup

Meanwhile, heat another pan on low flame. Add water to it and let it come to a boil. When it starts boiling, add sugar and mix well.

Step – 3 Mix Sooji and sugar syrup and garnish with dry fruits

When the Sooji turns light brown, add green cardamom powder and sugar solution to it. Mix well with the Sooji mixture until well combined. After this garnish with dry fruits and serve hot.
