The festival of Diwali is dedicated to Lakshmi Ji. Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha are worshipped on this day. It is essential to know about the auspicious time for Lakshmi Puja (Diwali Shubh Muhurt) in such a situation.

Worship time of Maa Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha

According to the Hindu calendar, Diwali Muhurt in Calendar), the worship of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha is believed to be from 06.09 pm to 08.20 pm. Duration of prayer- 1 hour 55 minutes. On the other hand, the Pradosh period – from 17:34:09 pm to 20:10:27 pm, while the Vrishabha period – is considered from 18:10:29 pm to 20:06:20 pm.

Method of Lakshmi Puja

  • The cleanliness of Diwali is essential. After cleaning every corner of your house, sprinkle Gangajal.
  • Lay a red cotton cloth on a wooden post and keep a handful of grains in the middle.
  • Place the Kalash (silver/bronze vessel) in the middle of the grain.
  • Fill the Kalash with water and put a betel nut, marigold flower, coin, and rice grains. Place five mango leaves in a circular shape on the Kalash.
  • Place the idol of Goddess Lakshmi in the centre and the idol of Lord Ganesha on the right side (south-west direction) of the Kalash.
  • Take a small plate, make a small mountain of rice grains, make a lotus flower with turmeric, put some coins, and place it in front of the idol.
  • Now do tilak to Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha and light a lamp. Apply tilak on the Kalash also.
  • Now offer flowers to Lord Ganesha and Lakshmi.
  • Offer coconut, betel nut, betel leaf to the mother.
  • Place some flowers and coins in front of the idol of the Goddess.
  • Take a lamp on the plate, ring the bell of worship and perform the aarti of Lakshmi Ji.
