Kandivali West: Three sanitation workers, who cleaned a public toilet in Ekta Nagar, Kandivali West of Mumbai, died of suffocation after falling into a septic tank. The BMC informed that the Mumbai Fire Department took him out and sent him to Shatabdi Hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.
Former local corporator Kamlesh Yadav said that slums surround this toilet, and people complained that the septic tank smells terrible. As per the report of Jagran, an agency was called by someone from the community-based organization to look into the issue. The agency sent three labourers. The labourer called an agency to inspect. The agency sent three workers, who opened the lid and one worker bent down to check and slipped and fell. At the same time, other labourers fell while helping them.

On March 2, four people died of suffocation while cleaning a septic tank in Kalbhor village in Pune, Maharashtra. This incident happened in the morning. Firefighters reached the spot and helped. On February 25, in Thane Bhiwandi, there was an explosion in the septic tank of a public toilet.
In this accident, a 60-year-old man died, and two people were injured. Firefighters pulled out the wounded trapped in the rubble and sent them to the hospital for treatment. Firefighters informed that the septic tank had exploded due to high pressure and gas.
