Exclusive: Aaditya Thackeray Said – Ready For the Third Wave

After the second wave of Corona, now the unlock has started in Maharashtra. At the same time, in Maharashtra, the government has begun preparing for the third wave. On the other hand, today, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi regarding the Maratha reservation. There are also many disputes between the constituent parties of the Maha Aghadi government of Maharashtra. Spot News 18 had a particular conversation with the Maharashtra Forest Minister and the President of Shiv Sena Youth Wing on all these issues. Spot News 18 correspondent Jitendra Dixit had this specific conversation with Aaditya Thackeray.

Question- Is Maharashtra ready to deal with the third wave of Corona? How are the preparations in the state?
Answer- Aaditya Thackeray said, “The unlocking process has started; we are also taking feedback from the people regarding this. But one should not think that a wave is over or that Kovid has gone away from us. We have to mention this every time. Because sometimes it happens that we believe that if the figures of Kovid have decreased, then maybe we cannot have Kovid right now. At the same time, possibly Kovid can happen to anyone. It should be kept in mind that the figures may have come down, but the second wave is not over. It will take time for us and the whole world to deal with Kovid.

Aaditya Thackeray said, “When we go ahead emerging from Corona, then a little economy should also run. With the lockdown, we are moving towards Begin Again. But people should take care in such a situation that apply the mask, keep hands clean, do social distancing. Don’t leave the house unnecessarily. These things can save us from Corona. Vaccination is also going on, but even after taking the vaccine, caution is necessary.

Regarding the third wave, Thackeray said, “For this, we have focused on three things. The first is the corporate response, the medical response, and the third is the civic response. In medical response, we are increasing the number of beds. Medicines, vaccines, and ICU are growing. For the first time, a task force for children was formed in Maharashtra. Talking about the corporate response, he has helped a lot, but now he has to see his responsibility and accountability. How will you deal if someone gets corona at the place of work? Talking about the third civic response, how will the unlock happen, how will the shops open. We are paying attention to all this.

Question- When will the local trains run once again in Mumbai?
Answer- Aaditya Thackeray said, “When the figures of corona decreased, we started behaving as if the corona was over. But talking about the local train, we cannot take this decision now. Before every decision, we will have to speak to the medical expert. A decision will be accepted only when the medical task force asks for it.

Question- Vaccines are being administered in cities of Maharashtra, but the pace is slow in rural areas; there is also confusion about it. What is the government doing for this?
Answer- Aaditya Thackeray said, “All our officers are engaged in this work that maximum vaccination should be done. In some of our districts, 100% vaccination has also been done in the villages. Along with the cities, our focus is also on the towns, how to vaccinate. No one is safe until every citizen is vaccinated.

Question- What are the preparations in Mumbai this time regarding monsoon?
Answer- Aaditya Thackeray said, “We have just received an alert that there may be heavy rain this week. We have engaged in this work. Construction work is going on in many places in Mumbai. This is our focus. Talking about the earlier rains in Mumbai, there used to be water for two to three days after the rain, but now the water remains only till the knees and goes out in a couple of hours. When it rains very fast in any city of the world, the water stops. But we are preparing for this also. Pumping sets are being increased in Mumbai.

Question- Uddhav Thackeray is going to Delhi to meet PM Modi; which issues will be discussed between the two leaders?
Answer- Aaditya Thackeray said, “Whatever state subjects, national issues, and relations with the central government will be discussed. I cannot discuss these issues before the meeting. Because maybe it would not be appropriate to talk about it. Whether it is a matter of centre-state coordination or whether it is a matter of corona, all these issues will be discussed only. There is CM sahib, DCM sahib, and there are two or four people in the meeting.
