Big news related to Uttar Pradesh assembly elections 2021. Samajwadi Party President and former UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had said that he would not participate in the elections held next year. Akhilesh Yadav gave this information while giving an interview to news agency PTI. Also noted is that the alliance of SP with Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) for the elections is sure. Just the distribution of seats is yet to be decided.

Akhilesh Yadav Will Not Contest Assembly Election

At the same time, on the question of contesting the election with uncle Shivpal Yadav’s Progressive Samajwadi Party Lohia (PSPL), Akhilesh Yadav said,

“I don’t have a problem with it. Respect will be given to him (i.e. Shivpal Yadav) and his people.”

Akhilesh Yadav is currently the MP from Azamgarh. He was, of course, being considered the SP’s chief ministerial candidate in the 2021 assembly elections. But by saying that he will not contest the election, Akhilesh has raised a big question of who will be the claimant for the post of CM from SP.

However, it should also be kept in mind that it is not necessary for Akhilesh Yadav to be an MLA to become a CM. If SP wins in the election, he can become CM by taking membership of the Legislative Council. All such speculations and speculations will continue till the results of the rest of the polls are out.

What is the party saying?

It is not clear whether Akhilesh Yadav has taken the decision of not contesting the elections on his own mind or after talking to the party people. After seeing the reaction of SP’s media cell head Ashish Yadav on Twitter regarding his statement, the process of speculation is going to increase further. Half an hour after PTI’s tweet, Ashish Yadav said on Twitter,

“BJP will be completely clean from Uttar Pradesh. People of Uttar Pradesh with SP. The party will take the decision of Samajwadi Party National President Shri Akhilesh Yadav ji to contest the assembly elections”.

That is, whether Akhilesh Yadav will contest the election or not, the final decision is yet to be taken.

‘Declared for fear of defeat’

We are not saying this. Many people on social media say that Akhilesh Yadav knows that his party is not going to win the UP elections, so he is already running away from the field. Many people on Twitter took a jibe at Akhilesh’s announcement. Agitator Anand’s Twitter handle said,

“Whoever is scared, think that he is dead. Jinnah’s son conceded defeat before the war.

A user named Anoop said,

“Akhilesh Yadav conceded defeat even before the fight started.”

Arun Dogra said something similar.

“Run ahead of time.”

There are still few months left for the election results to come. But some people have questioned that if Akhilesh does not contest the elections and does not become the CM, then who will make the SP the Chief Minister if he wins. As Dr. Shivansh Singh Chauhan asked,

“If you win, who will become CM, Dimple Yadav?”

At the same time, some believe that Akhilesh Yadav has indirectly supported the Congress by saying this. A person named Mukesh Bhalla said on Twitter,

“This is a way of indirectly supporting the Congress.”

What is Jinnah’s case?

Akhilesh Yadav has spoken about not contesting the elections at a time when he is facing fierce opposition for his statement about Mohammad Ali Jinnah. Addressing an election rally, Akhilesh Yadav took Jinnah’s name along with Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel and Jawaharlal Nehru. Said that Gandhi, Patel, Nehru and Jinnah came out of the same institution and became barrister and got freedom for the country. It was also said that no matter what struggle these people had to face, these people did not back down from it.

For this, the BJP is attacking the SP chief. She is calling Akhilesh’s statement her ‘Jinnah love’. UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has said,

“Akhilesh Yadav has humiliated not only the struggle of crores of people but also Sardar Patel at the time of partition of the country by expressing his love for Jinnah.”

At the same time, UP CM Yogi Adityanath said that it is extremely shameful to compare Akhilesh to Jinnah with Sardar Patel. Yogi said that Sardar Patel is the foundation and architect of India’s unity and integrity. Akhilesh Yadav has shown his divisive mindset by keeping his counterpart Jinnah.
