BJP MLA Sanjeev Raja Jail for 2 Years
Twenty-two years ago, in 1999, constable Shyam Sundar was on duty at the Ganda Nala intersection. Just then, a truck full of ballast was coming towards the city from Khair bypass. Constable Shyam Sundar asked the truck to pass through the bypass, but the truck driver disagreed and went inside the city.
Soldier Shyam Sundar stopped him again from the front; then, the truck driver said that this was Sanjeev Raja’s truck; the job would be lost if stopped. Then his 7-8 companions went there. He assaulted Shyam Sundar, abused and threatened to kill him. On this, the police filed a report in Sanjeev Raja and others in the police station Bannadevi for obstructing government work, abusing, beating and threatening.
The charge sheet was filed in the case, and through the evidence and witnesses, in the trial, city MLA Sanjeev Raja was sentenced to 2 years and fined Rs 14000. The city MLA deposited the fine and was released on bail. Now the MLA will soon file an appeal in the High Court against the sentence of 2 years.
