Boy Electrocuted in Ahmedabad

There are often reports of people dying during such dangerous video shoots. A similar case has come to the fore in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, where a 15-year-old boy lost his life while shooting a video for Instagram.

The incident is from the Ranip area of Ahmedabad. According to India Today reporter Gopi Ghanghar, on Monday 23 November, Prem Panchal, a resident of Ranip, reached the nearby Sabarmati yard with his friends. In the railway yard, Prem and his friends started shooting videos for uploading on Instagram.

It is said that during this time, Prem talked about shooting a video by climbing on top of a goods train parked on the track. As soon as he stood up after boarding the goods train, he contacted the electrical wires. He died on the spot due to the high voltage current in the cables.

As soon as the current started, it fell several feet away.

According to the news agency PTI, while giving information about the incident, Railway Police officials said,

“Prem Panchal came to the railway yard with his friends. The shock of the current was so strong that Prem jumped several feet and fell to the ground. Railway Police immediately took him to GMERS Hospital. Where the doctors declared him dead. We have registered a case of death due to an accident, and the incident is being investigated.”

People do not agree even after a railway awareness campaign

According to a report in the Indian Express, Western Railway has also stated this accident. It states,

“It is an unfortunate incident. We have run public awareness campaigns and have also advertised the risks involved in performing such stunts in trains. Our loco drivers try their best to ensure that there is no harm to human life, but still, such incidents do happen sometimes.”
