100 people arrested
Some people pelted stones at the procession on the occasion of Ram Navami in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh. It is alleged that when the procession was passing near the mosque, then stone pelting was started. Since then, the atmosphere in the area has been tense. So far, about 100 accused have been arrested in the case of Ram Navami and the violence that spread after it.
Miscreants attacked SP.
Khargone’s SP Siddharth Chaudhary was also injured in the violence. He has been shot in the leg. Chaudhary had said that as soon as he got information about the violence and arson, a young man with a sword ran him when he reached the Sanjay Nagar area.
But, when they chased him and tried to snatch the sword from him, he hurt his thumb. He said his companion opened fire on him when they wanted to catch him again. This caused a wound in his leg. However, surgery was not required. At present, the SP is resting at home.
On the other hand, the police are continuously taking action. Illegal properties of the accused involved in the violence are being demolished. However, Muslim religious leaders say that the police and administration are deliberately targeting only the people of the Muslim community in this matter.
