China does not leave any chance of infiltration in India. Whether it is infiltration through LAC or cyber attack. The latest case is of Ladakh. Where Chinese hackers have targeted Indian power stations, this information has been given to a private intelligence firm, Recorded Future report. In recent months, it has been said that Chinese hackers have targeted at least seven Indian State Load Despatch Centers.
Chinese Hackers Targeted Indian Power Grid
According to a report in Hindustan Times, through these centres, the work of grid control and power supply is done in the areas of Ladakh. According to the report, Chinese hackers have targeted the load dispatch centre for a long time. The purpose of Chinese hackers behind this can be to hack SLDC and blackout in the area.
According to Recorded Future, a hacking group named Tag-38 (TAG-38) is engaged in hacking through Shadow Pad software. The report also said that in the last 18 months, State and Regional Load Despatch Centers in India were first targeted by Red Echo. After this, now China is engaged in cyber-attacks through Tag-38. The report has said that China has started trying to gather intelligence through hackers.
It is worth noting that the Chinese hackers aim to blackout the SLDC located in Ladakh by hacking. However, this is not the first time Chinese trend hackers are doing such an act. Even before this, efforts have been made to spread darkness from China. Earlier in the year 2020, there was a 12-hour blackout in Mumbai. In that blackout, there was information about being Chinese hackers.
