Referring to the changing nature of the Coronavirus, the Prime Minister stressed the need for research and other related matters, including ‘genome sequencing’ in addition to investigation and vaccine. Underlining the need for the use of masks and maintaining proper distance to control COVID, he stressed the need for home isolation in cases of mild and asymptomatic infection.

On the other hand, 1,79,723 new coronavirus cases were reported in India in a single day on Monday. In this way, the number of coronae infected has reached 3,57,07,727. So far, 4,033 cases of Omicron variants have also been reported in 27 states and union territories.
The number of active cases has increased to 7,23,619, the highest number in about 204 days, while the death toll has risen to 4,83,936 due to the loss of 146 more patients. Of Omicron’s 4,033 patients, 1,552 have recovered or have left the country.
Maharashtra has the highest number of 1,216 cases of Omicron. After this, 529 cases were reported in Rajasthan, 513 in Delhi, 441 in Karnataka, 333 in Kerala and 236 in Gujarat.
