Maharashtra: 10 Corona Patients Died in Ahmednagar Civil Hospital


Fire in Ahmednagar Civil Hospital: 10 corona patients died due to fire in the civil hospital here. At the same time, six patients have been badly burnt who is undergoing treatment. The incident has been confirmed by the Collector of the area, Rajendra Bhosale. It is being told that the fire started in the COVID ward of the hospital.

After the fire, pictures inside the hospital have come to the fore. In which a plume of smoke is seen coming out. And all the machines and goods that were inside had also been burnt to ashes. As soon as the fire broke out, there was a scream in the hospital. The patient kept crying. But he could not escape from the ward.

How did Fire in Ahmednagar Civil Hospital Start?

It is reported that a short circuit caused the fire in the AC. According to the ‘Spot News 18’ report, 25 people were admitted to the ward where the fire broke out. Of these, ten have died, and six are injured. At the same time, Nawab Malik, Minister of Maharashtra Government, has said in this matter.


This fire started in the ICU ward of the hospital. There were corona patients here. This incident is serious. Hospitals were given explicit orders to conduct fire safety audits at their places. Now it will be examined. It will be ascertained whether this hospital had conducted a fire safety audit or not. If the hospital does not get the audit done, then it is a severe incident.

Nawab Malik further said that if there is a fire despite the audit, it will be investigated. He also said that strict action would be taken against those found guilty in the investigation. And the families of those who have died, compensation will be given.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also expressed condolences on this matter. wrote on Twitter-


I am saddened by the loss of lives due to a fire in a hospital in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. My condolences to the bereaved families. Heal the injured as soon as possible.

Union Minister Amit Shah also tweeted. They said

I am deeply anguished by the heart-wrenching accident in the Civil Hospital, Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. My thoughts are with the bereaved families in this hour of grief, and I pray to God for the speedy recovery of the injured.


However, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has ordered an inquiry in this matter. Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis has expressed deep condolences. He has said that he expresses deep condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the fire incident at the Municipal Civil Hospital. Along with this, he has wished for the immediate recovery of those injured in the accident. The former CM has said that there should be a detailed inquiry into this incident, and strict action should be taken against those responsible.
