The person who threatened to kill the former cricketer and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Gautam Gambhir has been identified. According to the report of Himanshu Mishra associated with India Today / Aaj Tak, Delhi Police has named this person Shahid Hameed. A threatening mail was sent to Gautam Gambhir from the account of his name. After the identification of the accused, the police has started further investigation.
Gautam Gambhir Received ISIS Threat Mail
Earlier in the media reports, it was told that Gautam Gambhir had been threatened with death through the mail. Not once, but twice. According to the information received by Aaj Tak, both these emails were sent by an organization named ISISI Kashmir. A video from outside Gambhir’s house was also attached in the mail. In such a situation, the police took the matter seriously.
Delhi Police Identified Threatener As Shahid Hameed
Gautam Gambhir had lodged a complaint with the Delhi Police regarding the mail. After this, the police swung into action and contacted Google and asked for the details of the email. Along with this, the police have made many important revelations. According to the report, Delhi Police traced the IP of the sender of the email. Police say that these emails were sent from Pakistan.
‘Wanted to kill you yesterday but survived.’
BJP MP Gautam Gambhir got the first email on Tuesday night. Soon after, Gambhir complained to the police. Taking action, the police put tight security outside Gambhir’s house. The next day, i.e. on Wednesday, another email came. In it, it was written,
‘Yesterday wanted to kill you but got saved; stay away from Kashmir.’
According to Arvind Ojha, associated with Aaj Tak, a video was also attached with this mail in which the parts outside Gambhir’s house in Karol Bagh were shown.
Gambhir has been aggressive against Pakistan!
As a BJP MP, Gautam Gambhir has been openly speaking on nationalist issues. He gives a befitting reply on Twitter to those who speak against India. Recently, Gambhir had attacked Navjot Singh Sidhu without naming him. Punjab Congress President Sidhu had described Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan as his elder brother. In response, Gambhir wrote,
“Send your son or daughter to fight on the border, then tell the head of an enemy country as your elder brother.”

There was also a heated debate in May 2020 between Gambhir and Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi regarding Kashmir. Afridi wrote on Twitter that the Modi government is oppressing the people in Kashmir. In response, Gambhir wrote,
“Shahid Afridi says that 200 million people are standing behind Pakistan’s 7 lakh army, yet they are begging for Kashmir for 70 years. Jokers like Afridi, Imran Khan and Bajwa can spew venom against India and PM Modi to fool the people of Pakistan but will not get Kashmir. Do you remember Bangladesh?”
Pak has 7 lakh force backed by 20 Cr ppl says 16 yr old man @SAfridiOfficial. Yet begging for Kashmir for 70 yrs. Jokers like Afridi, Imran & Bajwa can spew venom against India & PM @narendramodi ji to fool Pak ppl but won’t get Kashmir till judgment day! Remember Bangladesh?
