After a day’s relief, once again on Wednesday, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of torrential rain in many districts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai. IMD has issued a red alert in 5 sections of the state. A red alert has been issued for today and tomorrow in Kolhapur. Heavy rain has been predicted in Jalna, Beed, Nanded, Latur, Parbhani, Hingoli, Satara, Pune, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg.
Heavy Rains in Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and 5 Districts
On the other hand, in Mumbai also, there is high tide in the sea. And if the rains continue during the high tide, then the waterlogging in the city can be created again. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there may be heavy to hefty rains in Mumbai, Thane and Palghar for the next three days.
Heavy rain has started in Mumbai and adjoining areas of Mumbai for the last one hour. Mithi river is full. But the condition of waterlogging has not come in the roads and streets. The traffic is a bit slow due to the rain. The Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has alerted the officers and employees of all its 24 wards.
In Navi Mumbai, it is raining heavily in Nerul, Belapur, Vashi, Airoli. More Dam has been filled up to 62 per cent. A tree has fallen on an old auto-rickshaw in Thane due to heavy rain accompanied by strong winds. Luckily the auto driver was not present inside. In Vasai, Virar and Nalasopara, roads have been flooded due to hail. But local service is started.
Heavy rain started in the entire Konkan, including Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg
Rain continues to prevail in Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg on Wednesday as well. For the last three to four days, almost all parts of the Konkan region have been receiving torrential rains. Water from rivers and streams is flowing on the roads. Some rivers have flooded. Similar showers are expected for the next four days.
Marathwada still waiting for solid rains.
It was raining in many parts of Maharashtra for the last several days, but in Marathwada, the rain has started a game of eye-balling. Today (Wednesday, 21 July), there is a possibility of moderate rain. Many ponds and dams of Marathwada are waiting for good rains. Today the entire Marathwada is cloudy. The Meteorological Department has predicted good rains today. Marathwada district is the district of Maharashtra where drought conditions are often faced.
