Munger Ganga Bridge: The railroad bridge over the Ganges in Munger has been completed. The rail bridge was started, but the road bridge over the Ganga has also been prepared. Although it was to be launched on 25 December 2021, due to some reason, it has been postponed for the time being.
The foundation stone of this bridge was laid by the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The rail bridge was inaugurated by the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Know which districts will get relief from this railroad bridge.
Munger Ganga Bridge
This railroad bridge built on the Ganges in Munger is considered a milestone for Munger’s development. With the completion of this road bridge, the areas of North Bihar, Mithilanchal and Kosi will be directly connected by road. There is enthusiasm among Khagaria and Begusarai due to the construction of this bridge. After seven decades of independence, his dream of a road bridge with a rail on the Ganges will come true.
Five new districts have come into existence after being cut from Munger. Due to which Munger has got the status of divisional headquarters. But to keep Begusarai and Khagaria separated from Munger, the people of the three districts have been demanding to build a bridge over the Munger Ganga river for a long time.
The people of Munger have to travel 160-170 km by road and go to Khagaria and Begusarai. After the commissioning of this bridge, this distance will be reduced by 130 km, and instead of 170 km, the length of Khagaria and Begusarai will be only 30 to 40 km from Munger.
It is worth noting that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had laid the foundation stone of this railroad bridge in 2002. In March 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the rail bridge over the Ganges. But due to the non-completion of road bridgework, it could not be started. Now the road bridge is also ready. Its launch has been postponed, but soon the traffic will begin from it.
