After the hijab controversy in Karnataka, communal tension seems to be increasing. Now some banners have appeared in the coastal Karnataka region, on which it is written that Muslims cannot set up shop in the annual temple fair.
According to locals, right-wing groups had demanded this, after which most of the temple committees came under pressure. Right-wing groups say that after the decision on the hijab, Muslim organizations declared a bandh and kept their shops closed. Therefore temples should not allow them to set up stalls in the annual fair.
Let us inform you that an annual fair will be organized from April 20 at Mahalingeshwar temple in Puttur taluk. The land is auctioned for the stalls to be set up in this fair. The participation of Muslims in this auction has been banned. In this, only Hindus are allowed to bid for the stall.
It is written in the banner – Hindus have become aware
A similar poster of the annual festival was also seen at Bappandui Sri Durgapameshwari temple in Dakshina Kannada district. It was written in the poster that such people cannot be allowed to do business here, who do not respect the law and are against unity. Those who kill the cows we worship. Hindus have become aware now.
Police are looking for the person who put the poster
According to Mangaluru city police commissioner Shashi Kumar, who put up these banners is being ascertained. He said that the legal team would be consulted if the civic body files a complaint. He noted that the Tehsildar would visit there and prepare the report; based on this, further action will be taken.
Businesses worth crores happen every year in the fair
Annual festivals or fairs are organized in these temples, usually in April. During this, lakhs of people go to the temple, so business worth crores of rupees is also done.
Former CM Siddaramaiah condemned the decision.
Former CM Siddaramaiah has called this move condemnable. He said that it is surprising that the district officials are silent on this decision and allow this to happen.
