Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a rally in Punjab’s Ferozepur on Wednesday, 5 January. But the rally was cancelled at the last minute. Earlier, bad weather was believed to be the reason for the cancellation of the rally, but security reasons have been cited.
PM Narendra Modi Security Breach In Bathinda
The Home Ministry has sought an answer from the Punjab government regarding the security lapse of the PM. Meanwhile, a statement of PM Narendra Modi quoting sources is becoming increasingly viral. They will also tell, first know what happened in Firozpur.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, it has been said that PM Modi reached Bathinda this morning. From there, he had to go to the National Martyrs Memorial at Hussainiwala by helicopter. Due to rain and poor visibility, the PM waited for about 20 minutes for the weather to clear.
When the weather did not improve, he decided that he would go by road. It was going to take more than 2 hours. After the necessary confirmation of security arrangements by DGP Punjab Police, PM Modi’s convoy proceeded by road.
The statement further said
When the PM’s convoy reached a flyover, about 30 km from the National Martyrs Memorial in Hussainiwala, it was found that some protesters had blocked the road. PM remained stuck on the flyover for 15-20 minutes. It was a significant lapse in PM’s security.
The Home Ministry said that the Prime Minister’s schedule and travel plans were already conveyed to the Punjab government. According to the procedure, they had to make proper preparations and security arrangements. Keeping the contingency plan in mind, the Punjab government had to put additional police on the road, which was not done.
After this security lapse, the convoy was diverted back towards Bathinda airport. Taking cognizance of this severe lapse in security, the Home Ministry has sought a detailed report from the state government. The state government has also been asked to fix the responsibility of this lapse and take strict action.
At the same time, according to news agency ANI, the officials told him that when PM Modi reached Bathinda airport, he said the officials there,
Saying thanks to my CM, I could return alive till Bathinda airport.
JP Nadda alleges
After the cancellation of PM Modi’s rally, BJP President JP Nadda made several tweets one after the other. Wrote,
Fearing defeat, the Congress government of Punjab tried every possible trick not to allow the PM to hold the rally. While doing this, he did not even care that the PM had to pay tribute to Bhagat Singh and other martyrs. The foundation stone for significant development works is to be laid. With their lousy antics, the Congress government in Punjab has shown anti-development. He also has no respect for the freedom fighters.
What is extremely worrisome is that this incident was also a big security lapse as far as the PM is concerned. Protestors were given access to the Prime Minister’s route while the Punjab CS and DGP gave assurances to SPG that the route is clear.

Nadda said that this is a matter of great concern. This incident was also a significant lapse in PM’s security. The protesters were allowed to go in the way of the Prime Minister, while the CS and DGP of Punjab assured the SPG that the way was clear. CM Channi refused to speak on the phone or resolve it to make matters worse.
BJP National President further said
The tactics used by the Congress government in Punjab will hurt anyone who believes in democratic principles. The state police were instructed to stop people from attending the rally. A large number of buses were stuck due to the strictness of the police and the complicity of the protesters.
It is said that PM’s visit got interrupted to start development projects worth thousands of crores for Punjab. Still, we will not allow such a poor mentality to hinder the progress of Punjab and will continue our efforts for the development of Punjab.
At the same time, government sources say that this is the most significant lapse in the security of any Indian PM in recent years. According to him, only the Punjab Police was aware of the PM’s route, so what was seen on the flyover was a surprising scene of cooperation between the Punjab Police and the so-called protesters. Police behaviour like this has never been seen before.
