Omicron First Patient Found in Delhi: The first case of a new variant of Corona, Omicron, has come to light in Delhi’s capital. Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain gave this information. With this, 5 cases of Omicron have been reported in the country so far.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain told in a press conference on Sunday, December 5, that this patient had come to Delhi from the African country of Tanzania via Dubai. Omicron was confirmed in the COVID investigation at Delhi Airport.

After this, the patient was admitted to LNJP Hospital. Corona has also been confirmed in 17 other passengers travelling in the aeroplane with this passenger, although Omicron has not been established in any other passenger so far. The team of doctors is monitoring the situation. Satyendra Jain said,
“All those coming from infected countries are being tested at the airport itself. So far, COVID has been confirmed in 17 passengers, all of them have been admitted to LNJP Hospital. Friends, six people have contacted these 17 so far; they have also been tested for COVID; we are waiting for the report. Genome sequencing of 12 out of these 17 samples has been done, out of which Omicron has been confirmed in 1 patient.
Two cases came from Maharashtra and Gujarat.
Earlier on Saturday, December 4, two cases of the new variant Omkron of Corona were reported. One case was reported from Dombivali in Maharashtra and Jamnagar in Gujarat. Both the passengers had come to India from South Africa.
A 33-year-old man in Thane’s Dombivli area has been found infected with the Omicron variant of Corona. This person came to Mumbai on November 24 from Cape Town, South Africa, by plane. This passenger has not got the corona vaccine. On November 25, this person developed a mild fever, after which he got COVID tested.
It became clear from genome sequencing that this person is infected with Omicron variants. Its treatment is going on at the COVID Care Center in Kalyan-Dombivali. This is the first case of Omicron in Maharashtra.
At the same time, a person infected with Omicron in Gujarat came to Gujarat from Zimbabwe. A 72-year-old older adult in Jamnagar, Gujarat, has been found infected with the Omicron variant of the coronavirus. State Health Commissioner Jai Prakash Shivhare has confirmed this.
After the COVID-19 test on December 2, the older adult sample was sent for genome sequencing. This older adult has received both doses of the vaccine. So far, ten people have contacted them, and samples have been taken for investigation. At present, everyone has been quarantined.
Earlier, the first two cases of Omicron were reported from Karnataka, where it was confirmed in a 66-year-old South African traveller and a local doctor. At the same time, the doctors found it infected with Omicron do not have any travel history.
