Fertilizer Made from Cow Dung Will Be Delivered to Farmers

Fertilizer Made from Cow Dung: Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister JP Dalal said that concrete steps would be taken to encourage the state farmers to adopt organic farming and make Gaushalas self-supporting. He said that certification of organic PROM prepared in Gau Anusandhan Kendra and alternative to DAP should be done.

After the standard of this fertilizer is certified, the Haryana government will deliver the certified compost to the farmers. It will act as a revolution in organic farming. Dalal was addressing a virtual event on Wednesday on the future course of action for the Organic Prom, an alternative to chemical DAPs.

Fertilizer Made from Cow Dung

Dalal said that in the coming times, we would have to emphasize traditional cow-based farming. A trusted lab should thoroughly test this PROM manure made from phosphate-based cow dung. By using it as a trial in the fields, the farmers will have to be made aware of the need for such fertilizers.

This fertilizer can prove to be much cheaper and more successful than chemical DAP. If we are successful in this direction, then surely Haryana will be the first state in the country to do so.

Need of the hour organic farming

The Agriculture Minister said that the State Government is ready to take all possible steps for the interests of the farmers. Organic farming is the need of the day. To make Gaushalas self-reliant, more emphasis will be given to research for making organic manure from cow dung and the appropriate use of cow urine. In modern times, organic farming is very beneficial for the ever-increasing population, environmental pollution, conservation of soil fertility and human health.

Chemical fertilizer is harmful.

For the overall development of human life, natural resources mustn’t be polluted. To maintain a hygienic environment and get nutritious food, we have to adopt the agricultural methods of organic farming, which can provide food items to all people without polluting our natural resources and human environment.

Chemical fertilizers reduce the fertility of the soil as well as reduce the yield of crops. The environment is also contaminated, due to which there is a risk of spreading diseases. Therefore, farmers should promote organic fertilizer in their crops.

Work on organic farming

Haryana Cow Service Commission Chairman Mr Shravan Kumar Garg said cow dung is also considered wealth in Indian culture. For thousands of years, our agriculture has been based on cow dung, cow urine. Various organizations are working on different dimensions of organic farming.

On this occasion, Principal Scientific Adviser Dr Ketki Bapat, Animal Husbandry Commissioner, Government of India, Dr Praveen Malik, Additional Chief Secretary, Haryana Animal Husbandry Department, Ankur Gupta and Director General of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Hardeep Singh, and many others told the benefits of organic farming.
