Petrol Diesel Price Hike: After the elections are over in five states, now the prices of petrol and diesel will increase rapidly across the country, including Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra. Given this fear, a huge crowd is visible in front of petrol pumps in Mumbai today (March 8, Tuesday).
People are already trying to buy petrol and diesel and keep it in their stock so that if the price increases, there is no need to buy fuel at a higher price immediately. Due to the Russia -Ukraine war, the cost of crude oil in the international market is touching the highest ever. Despite this, Indian fuel companies did not increase the price of petrol and diesel. But after the elections of all the five states are over, its rates will immediately touch the sky. Due to this apprehension, long lines are visible in front of petrol pumps.
Petrol Diesel Price in Mumbai Maharashtra
In states like Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Goa, the election process was started for a month. On Monday, the seventh and last phase of polling in Uttar Pradesh was completed. The central government did not want to take the voters’ displeasure during the election.
Therefore, every effort was made to keep the price of petrol and diesel under control during this period. But now, the voting process is over. Petrol and diesel rates are almost certain to increase. That’s why Mumbaikars started queuing in front of petrol pumps from Tuesday morning itself. Even before the rate hike, there is a competition to fill the tank of the vehicles.
Petrol and diesel prices did not increase on Tuesday; fear of rising prices increased.
Meanwhile, there was no increase in fuel rates by the petroleum companies Tuesday. There have been changes in petrol and diesel rates only at the local level. Fuel rates in important cities of the country are currently stable. Petrol in Mumbai is getting Rs 109.98 and diesel Rs 94.14 per litre. Similarly, in Delhi, petrol is getting Rs 95.41 per litre, and diesel is getting Rs 86.67 per litre. Given the increase in international crude oil rates for the last few days, petrol and diesel may become costlier by 10 to 12 rupees in the coming time.
It is feared that the petrol sold at Rs 109.98 per litre in Mumbai today will start selling up to Rs 120 per litre. Similarly, the rate of diesel ploughed in Mumbai can also cross the hundred mark by increasing from Rs 94.14.
