Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who came to meet the victims of the violence that broke out in Lakhimpur Kheri, UP, was taken into custody by the police at 5.30 am on Monday. Priyanka had reached Lakhimpur but was taken into custody by the police in Hargaon itself and did not allow her to meet the victims. Priyanka has been accommodated in a guest house in Sitapur.
A video of her has surfaced from the guest house where the police have detained Priyanka Gandhi. In this video, Priyanka is seen sweeping the room. In this video of about 45 seconds, it is seen that the whole room is lying empty, and Priyanka is sweeping. Priyanka has been kept in the guest house of the 22nd Battalion of PAC.

After Priyanka Gandhi was taken into custody, her brother and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi tweeted. Rahul tweeted and wrote, ‘Priyanka, I know you will not back down. They are scared of your courage.

Earlier, Rahul had also surrounded the government over the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri. He had tweeted, ‘Who is silent even after seeing this inhuman massacre? He is already dead. But we will not let this sacrifice go in vain – Kisan Satyagraha Zindabad!’

After the violence in Lakhimpur, Priyanka reached Lucknow late at night. From here, she got her residence in Lucknow. Congress leaders claim that more than 300 policemen and 150 women constables were deployed outside her house to stop Priyanka from going to Lakhimpur. Around noon late in the night, Priyanka left for Lakhimpur from Lucknow. After about 5 hours, Priyanka reached Lakhimpur, but the police took her into custody near Hargaon and took her to the guest house.
What happened in Lakhimpur Kheri?
It is alleged that Union Minister of State Ajay Mishra Teni’s son Ashish Mishra overpowered the protesting farmers. This resulted in the death of four farmers. After this, violence erupted, in which four more people, including the driver of the BJP leader, died. So far, eight people have been killed in this whole uproar. However, the Union minister and his son have denied these allegations. Ashish Mishra has claimed that he has been in Banwaripur since morning.
