Golden Temple Sacrilege Case: There is an uproar over Saturday’s incident at the Golden Temple in Amritsar, one of the holiest sites of Sikhs. Punjab Home Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has expressed concern over the sacrilege issue. He said that this matter is being taken very seriously.
Randhawa has said that the identity of the accused has not yet been established. He didn’t have an identity card. It has been found in the investigation that the person had come to Darbar Sahib alone. Security has been tightened in and around the Golden Temple complex. Along with this, the footage of CCTV cameras installed in other gurudwaras is also being scrutinised.
Golden Temple Sacrilege Case
The Punjab Assembly had passed a bill to prevent such incidents. However, it is yet to be approved. He said that we had demanded a minimum sentence of 10 years for those found guilty of sacrilege. He said that the matter would be investigated.
Let us tell you that during the Rehras Sahib recitation in Darbar Sahib on Saturday, a person forcibly reached the central place of worship. According to the report, the man went inside by jumping over the railing and allegedly tried to grab the sword placed in front of Guru Granth Sahib. In the blink of an eye, the people of the Sangat present there caught him. Later he was handed over to the task force of SGPC. But the mob did lynching, and the person died.
Punjab Police has registered a case in this matter. According to DCP Rampal Singh, the victim of the mob died. The young man’s body has been sent to the Civil Hospital; his age is being told as 24-25 years old.
