Lt Rishi Kumar and Sepoy Manjit Singh Martyred in a Blast in Rajouri


Lt Rishi Kumar and Sepoy Manjit Singh Army personnel were martyred in a blast in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri district near LoC in Jammu and Kashmir. There a young man is injured. Army personnel were patrolling near the Line of Control, during which an explosion took place.

In a statement issued by the Army, it has been said that on Saturday, October 30, two soldiers of the Indian Army were seriously injured in the blast while on patrol. Later he died. At the same time, the third jawan who was injured is undergoing treatment. The soldiers who were martyred are Lieutenant Rishi Kumar and Sepoy Manjit Singh.

“The White Knight Corps and all ranks of the Army salute the brave Lt Rishi Kumar and Sepoy Manjit Singh, who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty along the Line of Control in the Nowshera Sector. The Army extends its condolences to their families.”


Martyr Lieutenant Rishi Kumar was a resident of Begusarai in Bihar. On the other hand, martyr constable Manjit Singh was a resident of Sirvewala in Bathinda district of Punjab.

Rishi Kumar had joined the Army a year ago. The company commander called Rishi Kumar’s father, Rajiv Ranjan and informed him about the martyrdom. His parents and two sisters survive him. On November 29, his younger sister was going to get married. Rishi Kumar was about to come home on November 22 to attend his sister’s wedding.

Martyr Rishi Kumar was initially a resident of Pipariya in Lakhisarai but was living near GD College. His grandfather used to work in a refinery, due to which the family settled here. The martyr’s father, Rajiv Ranjan, told that the son had spoken to the mother four days ago and said that he was bringing a holiday to the sister’s wedding. Meanwhile, today information was received that the sage was martyred.


Union Minister and Begusarai MP Giriraj Singh and Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav have paid tribute to the death of Rishi Kumar. On the other hand, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid tribute to the martyred soldiers and wished the injured jawan a speedy recovery. Sinha tweeted, “My tributes to the indomitable courage of Army Lieutenant Rishi Kumar and Sepoy Manjit Singh, who was martyred during the defence of the Indian border in the Nowshera sector. My deepest condolences to the families of the martyrs. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured jawan.
