Colleges To Reopen Starting August, Says University Grants Commission

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has said that the academic calendar of the first year of graduation will start from September 1 2020. While the academic calendar for second and third-year students in graduation will begin from August 1. The examinations will be held from May 26 to June 25 next year. There will be a summer holiday from July 1 to July 30. The UGC said that next year’s session would start from August 1, 2021.

UGC New Guidelines

The Commission has said in the guidelines for examinations and educational programs that the examination of the students of the last semester can hold in July. The UGC has said, “Students in the middle session will give grades based on the internal assessment of the pre and current semester. In states where the coronavirus condition has become normal, there will be examinations in July. ”

The UGC Commission has said, “MPhil, PhD students will get six months more time. And the interview will be through video conference. “The Commission has made it clear that the guidelines are like a consultation. And universities can formulate their plans considering issues related to the COVID-19 epidemic.”
